Membership
Membership in FAPTO is $35.00 per year per family. These membership dues, along with monies raised from other activities, are used to enhance the experience of our student body. Everybody benefits when a Foothill's family joins.

The Foothills Academy Parent Teacher Organization (FAPTO) is a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, and administrators. Our mission is to work together with the entire school community to promote an enriched learning environment and enhance the overall educational experience of each child attending Foothills Academy. You can join the FAPTO online at WWW.FAPTO.ORG or fill out the attached form and drop it by the office with your check payable to FAPTO. Membership in FAPTO is $35 per family per year. Your family’s support is vital to the many programs FAPTO offers.

Joining FAPTO in no way commits you to any further obligation, although we hope you will participate as your time constraints allow. There are many volunteer opportunities at Foothills Academy; we need help with fundraising, assisting with the publishing of a Blackhawk News, Advisory Parents for all grades, help during special functions and the daily lunch program. We can utilize any time commitment you can make, as little as 30 minutes each month makes a substantial contribution to the educational experience of your child.

Funds raised by FAPTO help support the Cultural Enrichment Program, student activities such as prom, yearbook, school dances and the 6th grade social, appreciation programs, school transportation and field maintenance and new this year after school clubs in technology, media, drama and arts. During the 2007/2008 school year FAPTO will be running a pilot program to increase technology in the classrooms. We are purchasing and installing a Smart Board for teacher use and feedback. One of our goals is to increase technology in all classrooms. Additionally, for FAPTO members, our web site offers access to the carpool data base and the 2008/2009 school directory.

Meetings are normally held in the MPR on the Foothills campus rotating between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Our first official FAPTO meeting for the 2007/2008 school year will be on Tuesday, August 28th at 3:30. We are meeting early in the school year to vote on this year’s budget and appoint Advisory Parents. All paid FAPTO members can vote on the 2007/2008 budget. We encourage every family to join early and take part in the allocation of this year’s funds. All meeting dates and times are available on the school calendar. We encourage you to attend as many meetings as possible, strong parent support makes all the difference in our children’s education.
